Spy Review: Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival – Week 2 by Steve Parks
Written by Steve Parks The 37th annual Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival opened its second week with “Mozart and More” – …
This year’s festival, June 10 through June 18, 2022, offers six concerts, two open rehearsals and two artist/audience conversations, all presented in the elegant and acoustically ideal environment of Easton’s Ebenezer Theater. We hope these concerts, around the theme of “Artful Dialogues”, will stimulate a variety of “musical conversations” between performers and audience around works encompassing varied periods, styles, and ensembles.
As always, we take pleasure in welcoming back many familiar and well-loved artists as well as introducing musicians new to our stage. The “surprise” this year will be the addition of a vocal component to our first week concerts, opening a window on the rich repertoire pairing intimate chamber-scale instrumental ensembles and the human voice. You will also have an opportunity to enjoy a performance by Trio Colores, the Lerman Gold Prize winners of Chesapeake Music’s 10th International Chamber Music Competition for Young Professionals.
We want to thank our generous donors who make the festival possible. Let the music play!
