Chesapeake Music Announces 2025-2026 Interlude Concert Series

Chesapeake Music is delighted to announce its 2025-2026 Interlude Concert Season, a year-round series, which brings world-class chamber musicians and jazz artists to perform at The Ebenezer Theater at Prager Family Center for the Arts for the Eastern Shore community. This year’s season includes returning rising stars, internationally acclaimed musicians, Grammy Award winners, and the sounds of big band jazz!

The Renaissance Quartet with pianist Zhu Wang and violist Catherine Cho will open the Series on Saturday, September 27th at 7:30pm. Founded in 2021 by violinists Randall Goosby and Jeremiah Blacklow, violist Jameel Martin, and cellist Daniel Hass, the New York City-based quartet was formed through their decade-long friendship at The Perlman Music Program and The Juilliard School. Also joining them onstage, pianist Zhu Wang was awarded First Prize Winner at 2020 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions and 2024 New Orleans International Piano Competition. The evening’s concert will also feature violist Catherine Cho, who serves as one of Chesapeake Music’s two co-Artistic Directors and is recognized for her remarkable virtuosity, combining technical mastery of her instrument with an extraordinary and distinctive musicality. The Renaissance Quartet is dedicated to representing and articulating an inclusive vision of the future of classical music, which sees a culture of music wherein all lives and histories are welcomed and celebrated. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at ChesapeakeMusic.org.

On Sunday, November 23rd, Chesapeake Music welcomes the Grammy Award-winning Catalyst Quartet for an afternoon performance at 2:00pm. Catalyst Quartet was founded by the internationally acclaimed Sphinx Organization in 2010. The ensemble (Karla Donehew Perez, violin; Abi Fayette, violin; Paul Laraia, viola; and Karlos Rodriguez, cello) believes in the unity that can be achieved through music and imagines their programs and projects with this in mind, redefining and reimagining the classical music experience.

A dynamic bandleader and recording artist, Stephen Philip Harvey leads this critically acclaimed large ensemble in celebration of their August 2025 album release Multiversal: Live at Bop Stop. His multifaceted artistic voice is rooted in improvisation, groove, and cross-genre fluency.

On Sunday, March 1st, 2026, Chesapeake Music will host the Abeo Quartet, formed at Juilliard in 2018 and the inaugural Graduate String Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Delaware under the mentorship of the Calidore String Quartet from 2021–2023. Abeo’s recent accomplishments include Third Prize at the 2023 Bad Tölz International String Quartet Competition, making the semi-finals at the 2023 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, and being among ten quartets invited to participate in the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022 — the same year they received a Silver Prize at the Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition. The members of the quartet are violinists Njioma Grevious and Rebecca Benjamin, violist James Kang, and newest member, cellist Macintyre Taback.
