CELEBRATE 40 YEARS OF CHESAPEAKE MUSIC!
Thank you for considering a donation to Chesapeake Music, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating and inspiring its community through music at the highest level. This year, we are proud to be celebrating our 40th Anniversary Year!
And with a celebratory year comes celebratory programming! We are thrilled to present a truly exciting season that features the Rising Star talents of the Isidore String Quartet, Stella Chen, Sterling Elliott, Evren Ozel, and many more, alongside some of the most respected and distinguished greats in music today, such as the Juilliard String Quartet, who will be in residence during our 40th Chamber Music Festival in June.
Beyond our performance calendar, we are expanding our outreach efforts and have recently completed educational, collaborative residencies at all five Talbot County Public Elementary Schools, as well as an after-school program at Building African American Minds.
Your support is what brings our various programs to life, and every gift matters!
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
For 40 years, Chesapeake Music has brought world-renowned musicians and rising musical stars to the Eastern Shore to delight audiences and introduce young people to fine music. The generous support of so many is what makes this possible. There are numerous ways that you can be a supporter of Chesapeake Music, each one designed to enable you to designate where the funds should go and the way in which you choose to contribute. Various Giving Opportunities are described below, but are limited only in our imagination. You can use the donate button to easily make a contribution, mail a contribution to our office, or contact David Faleris, Executive Director, at dave@chesapeakemusic.org to discuss sponsorship opportunities, a deferred or planned gift, or any other idea you would like to explore!
GENERAL FUND
Contributions to the General Fund are used to support all activities of Chesapeake Music and benefit all programs. All gifts/donations, unless specifically designated by the donor, will go to the greatest need of the organization through its General Fund.
SPONSORSHIPS
Ticket revenue is rarely enough to cover all of the costs associated with a performance or activity. Individual (and Corporate) Sponsorship is a critical way to supplement ticket sales while being recognized as a major contributor to Chesapeake Music. Donors can sponsor most major events & programming, including the Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival, the International Chamber Music Competition, YouthReach (educational) programming, or, for a lesser contribution, an individual concert or event.
ENDOWING A “CHAIR”
One way to honor musicians who have made important contributions to Chesapeake Music over the years and to leave lasting support for fine music performance on the Eastern Shore, is to endow a performance chair or Competition Prize. The chair or prize can be named for a musician, donor and/or a particular instrument. A substantial contribution is required for an endowment, though payment can be over several years. Funds received for endowment are invested with a professional money manager and the return from the investment is used to support the endowed artists, performances, or prizes.
LEGACY SUPPORT
People who are considering ways to leave a lasting legacy in support of fine music are encouraged to consider Chesapeake Music in their estate planning. Legacy gifts can be designated to support any area of Chesapeake Music, whether for one or more of our four major programs — Festival, Competition, Interlude Concerts, or YouthReach — or another area of your interest such as technology, endowing a “chair”, professional services, general funding, or more. A variety of mechanisms are available for this purpose, such as bequests, gift annuities, life insurance, property, etc.
CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
Supporters who donate $1,000 or more in a fiscal year — October 1 thru September 30 — are considered to be in Chesapeake Music’s Circle of Friends and are invited to a special event & performance in celebration of their support!
If you have any questions or wish to explore different ways of supporting Chesapeake Music, please contact David Faleris, Executive Director, at dave@chesapeakemusic.org.
